Our language is a powerful means of communication. With it, we can include people, respect them and make people visible. But language can also exclude, discredit and discriminate.

Inclusive language is language that recognizes people and their cultures, that is respectful, puts people first, respects historical backgrounds, is accessible, represents diversity, is not based on stereotypes and is gender-equitable.

But how does inclusive language work? Our language – and therefore also inclusive language – is fluent and dynamic. What does this mean for our everyday communication and how can we recognize and accept our differences and uniqueness, listen to each other better and value our opinions?

In our presentation you will learn, together with Daniela Fleck – Terminologist at Philips how we can use language to strengthen diversity and inclusion and make our communication more respectful and accessible. We discuss examples, give tips and exchange ideas with the audience. Because we are all on the way to an inclusive language. The journey is the goal. A path that is worthwhile to walk together.
